Woodbury diners (and chickens and cows), get ready to welcome a new culinary sensation, straight out of Audubon. LesbiVeggies, an all vegan, gluten-free eatery with great vibes is moving its cruelty-free cuisine to a new and larger home next year.
The hip young concept will be moving operations from its current Audubon home at 112 West Merchant Street to a more spacious location at 146 South Broad Street in Woodbury. Owner Brenneh Lambert explains to What Now Philadelphia that the new neighborhood will create more opportunities for her business and her vision. She states that Woodbury drew her attention with the promise of “Bigger space, new people, growth, and me being able to expand creatively with my business.”
LesbiVeggies has had the fortunate problem of simply outgrowing its current location. Lambert says “The current space is super limiting as far as space and what I can do with it. And I’ve always had a liking towards the town of Woodbury. I think the demographic represents me, and that translates to my business.”
LesbiVeggies’ Woodbury move is the result of a perfect storm of hard work, great product, careful strategy, and good timing. Lambert explains that she became aware of a grant the township was offering to small businesses to move to Main Street. She adds “I already had it in mind, so it really just worked out. I applied for the grant and got accepted. The space is just really nice. And it’s going to be new construction. The building is being built back up so it’s a fresh start for us.”
Fans of LesbiVeggies can look forward to a continued commitment to delicious, ethical, and healthy fare. However, Lambert has big plans for her new Woodbury home. She describes the eatery’s future, saying: “I’m really going to do a focus on private events. Catering, and live entertainment/open mics. We dabbled with that at the current location but the size isn’t ideal. I want to incorporate more community events. I want to use the kitchen to do cooking classes, online and in-person. I want to incorporate a lounge as well.”
LesbiVeggies’ reinvention isn’t limited to the recreational. Lambert is reworking the concept’s menu as well. She explains: “The menu is going to be completely different. I want to scale it down and bring the presentation up a little bit. I’m going to rotate the menu a bit more often, make it more seasonal.”
Woodbury foodies won’t have to wait too much longer to experience Lambert’s vision. LesbiVeggies’ last day at its current location is December 21, and Lambert is aiming for a late January or early February opening for the new Woodbury home.
LesbiVeggies will create a new, welcoming, and inviting hangout for diners to enjoy a delectable vegan meal and pass a chill evening. Lambert states her hopes for the restaurant’s atmosphere as: “Relaxed. People always say ‘I like the vibe of your restaurant’. It’s going to be super vibey with the music, lighting. I’m into neo-soul and R&B so I really want to incorporate that. I want people to be super relaxed and comfortable.”
Better demographics?
