Seafood boils, lobster rolls and more are coming to Chandler when Angry Crab Shack opens its doors at 3033 S. Gilbert Road. The restaurant is expected to open some time during the first quarter of 2026, according to Collins Appiah, the franchise partner of the location.

The restaurant, still in its construction phase, is the first Angry Crab Shack to be build from the ground up, according to the Chandler Independent. Appiah confirmed the news, saying that each Angry Crab Shack’s design is unique.

The restaurant was founded in 2013 by Ron Lou, a former professional football player who played for the Houston Oilers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Upon retiring, Lou spent the next three decades creating different restaurant concepts including a breakfast spot, a sports bar, and a number of Chinese restaurants. Intent on a new concept, Lou opened the first Angry Crab Shack in Mesa, Arizona. The restaurant offers a variety of options, combining bold Asian flavors with fresh seafood.

Angry Crab Shack is best known for its custom seafood boils where customers can choose what items they want from a robust list of options such as shrimp, mussels, crab, lobster, and crawfish — and then add vegetables and their desired sauce style and heat level.

The restaurant is also known for giving back to the community it serves by establishing relationships with local charities and donating to those in need.
