BJ’s is hard at work building a prototype of a contemporary reimagining of their restaurant and brewery in Goodyear and it seems that the chain is getting proactive with expanding their footprint in the greater Phoenix market. Chandler might be getting a second BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery location in the near future.
According to public records, BJ’s Restaurant has proposed taking over the former Roy’s Restaurant at 7151 W. Ray Road within The Shoppes at Casa Paloma. The project entails demolishing the Roy’s building for a newly constructed 7,662-square foot restaurant space with a 731-square foot outdoor patio.
The proposal has apparently been routed through Development Services, which suggests that the city of Chandler is taking the project into consideration. That said, the existing Chandler BJ’s location is a less-than-15 minute drive around the corner to Chandler Fashion Center.
Given that the new BJ’s coming to Goodyear sounds like an elevated version of what we’re already familiar with, we wouldn’t put it past the chain or the city to put out the best of what they have to offer also.
Whether or not this new BJ’s location will get approved and materialize over the next year or so is still up for debate. Representatives for BJ’s Restaurant & Brewery have not returned requests for comment.
