Black Rock Coffee Bar is once again expanding its presence.
Black Rock Development Company, LLC has just filed a site plan with the town of Queen Creek to build a 600- 700 square foot building on approximately 1.09 acres of land at 35639 N. Ellsworth Avenue, at the south corner of N. Ellsworth Avenue and W. Hunt Highway.
According to the filing, the coffee shop will have outdoor seating and a drive-thru. No opening date has been set, as construction has not officially begun.
Black Rock Coffee Bar was founded in 2008 by Daniel Brand and Jeff Hernandez, who focused on bringing a drive-thru coffee experience to Beaverton, Oregon. The concept was a hit for its delicious coffees, chillers, teas, and branded Fuel energy drinks. Customers appreciated the drive-thru experience, which allows people to get their caffeine fix without leaving the comfort of their vehicles.
The company is also known for exceptional customer service, with barristas creating a sense of community by remembering customer names and going the extra mile.
That philosophy resonated with guests, and Black Rock Coffee Bar grew rapidly. As of late 2025, Black Rock Coffee Bar operates 158 company-owned locations across seven states including Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, and Washington with plans to significantly expand. In 2025, the company also went public, and is currently trading on the NASDAQ stock exchange under symbol BRCB.
