Bubba’s 33, a family-friendly sports bar and scratch-made comfort food restaurant from the creators of Texas Roadhouse, is getting ready to open in East Mesa, located at 1710 S Power Rd.
The new Mesa location is set to move into the former home of On The Border Mexican Grill & Cantina at the northwest corner of Power Road and Superstition Boulevard, according to East Mesa Now. While an exact opening date has yet to be announced, this marks Bubba’s 33’s fourth location in the Phoenix metro area. The restaurant is known for its energetic atmosphere, wall-to-wall TVs, and wide-ranging menu that caters to both families and game-day crowds.
Founded by Kent Taylor, the late founder of Texas Roadhouse, Bubba’s 33 opened its first location in 2013 and has steadily grown across the U.S. The brand is positioned as a hybrid between a sports bar and casual American eatery, with a strong focus on fresh ingredients and community engagement. The upcoming Mesa store reflects the company’s continued investment in the Arizona market, joining existing locations in Glendale, Peoria, and Goodyear.
Bubba’s 33 is known for its bold and hearty menu featuring hand-stretched stone-baked pizzas, burgers made from proprietary beef and bacon blends, fresh chicken wings, and house-made sauces and dressings. The restaurant also offers salads, sandwiches, pastas, and a selection of desserts, along with a dedicated kids’ menu and family-style to-go packs.
The Mesa location will also feature a full-service bar pouring handcrafted cocktails, local beers, and seasonal specials. Designed with both high-energy sports fans and neighborhood diners in mind, Bubba’s 33 aims to deliver a welcoming, hometown-style experience in every market it enters.
