Chula Seafood, the restaurant that sources fresh seafood directly from the Pacific Ocean to Arizonans’ plates, is opening a fourth location.

The new spot will open at Arizona Center (455 N. Third Street) in 2006, announcing the news on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

Owned by husband-and-wife team Jon and Mandy Heflin, along with partner Hogan Jamison, Chula’s origin story starts with a commercial swordfish boat. The partners began by selling fresh fish at farmers markets and through wholesale distribution with a goal of bringing fresh fish to the Arizonian desert. In 2016, they opened their first brick-and-mortar location in South Scottsdale.

Chula’s gained a loyal following by offering its fresh, never frozen sustainable fish that can be both purchased to go or prepared and eaten on site. The menu changes daily and by location to ensure freshness, but guests can expect a bounty of fresh items such as yellowfin tuna, swordfish, corvina, smoked fish, oysters, poke bowls, lobster grilled cheese, tacos, and wild Mexican shrimp.

According to the Phoenix New Times, the new Arizona Center location will have an expanded menu that will include some “turf” menu items in addition to the restaurant’s seafood-forward offerings. The new space will also feature a bar and patio dining to round out the experience.
