Culinary Gangster is expanding its portfolio.

The family-run, Arizona-born restaurant is opening a Tempe location — right on the heels of opening a second Downtown Phoenix restaurant.

The announcement was made on Culinary Gangster’s Instagram page, saying, “Tempe, it’s official. Culinary Gangster is coming to Mill Ave — right underneath Varsity. We’re still blown away at how far we’ve come and the love that made it possible. This one’s for everyone who’s been riding with us.” An opening date hasn’t been set for the Mill Avenue restaurant.

Culinary Gangster was founded by Richard Raschillo, and it’s a true family operation, with son Rocco Raschillo serving as partner, and operating the new Downtown Phoenix location.

The restaurant offers a range of choices designed to please even the pickiest of eaters with burgers, wraps, salads, sandwiches, and breakfast specials available. Signature dishes include the Spicy Gangster Burger with jalapenos, pickles, fried onions, aged white cheddar, sweet chili sauce, and habanero sauce on a brioche bun; and the Baja Breakfast Burrito with six scrambled eggs, avocado, tomatoes, onions, green peppers, cheddar cheese, knockout sauce, and French fries in a tomato basil tortilla — which is available all day. Another popular item is the Burger Box — a sharable plate of four burgers, four orders of fries, and four drinks for only $67.
