According to a new building permit recently issued by the City of Phoenix, a Dairy Queen is due to take up the vacant building at 5105 W. Thomas Road. This will be the ice cream chain’s second location on this street, the other currently standing on the eastern end near Arcadia.

We all know Dairy Queen for their signature Blizzards, which are served upside down to showcase how thick these blended soft serve treats are. In addition to other ice cream treats such as cones, sundaes, and banana splits, some locations also serve burgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders, sandwiches, and more.

This particular new location will be a walk-up location with no dining room. The space was formerly a business called Taco Shop Co. and is next to Tio Rico Te Ayuda Loan Centers.

Dairy Queen will be joining nearby stores such as dd’s Discounts, Family Dollar, and ARCO. Keep your eyes peeled on Thomas Road to see D.Q.’s progress until it finally debuts for a grand opening.
