Commercial permits were recently filed for a 2,631-square-foot Dairy Queen, which will take up residence in a new development from property group Newmark that’s being constructed at 1310 East McKellips Rd in Mesa.
According to a leasing brochure reviewed by What Now Phoenix, the development – which sits at the east-northeast corner of Stapley Dr and McKellips Rd – will also include a Pacific Dental office, while two other suites are currently available.
A representative of the franchise group behind this Dairy Queen location did not immediately return a request for comment.
Dairy Queen, which was founded in Joliet, Illinois in 1940 but has since moved its headquarters to Minneapolis, boasts more than 7,000 locations across the US, Canada, and more than 20 other countries. Of those, roughly 20 are spread throughout the Phoenix region.
While the company’s menu runs the gamut of a traditional quick-service burger joint, it is perhaps best known for the Blizzard ice cream treats, which debuted in 1985.
