Little Anita’s New Mexican Food is one of the most highly anticipated restaurant openings in Chandler. Ever since Juan Jaime’s Tacos and Tequila closed in the Chandler Festival shopping center at 2510 W. Chandler Boulevard, people have been waiting for Little Anita’s to take over.

Those with true Southwestern roots may know what’s in store at Little Anita’s: sopapillas, blue corn enchiladas, and other New Mexican dishes smothered in red or green chile sauce. Whichever you prefer, the traditional sauce is made with that New Mexico Chile flavor that is quintessential to the nation’s 47th state.

Mike Ponzio, who owns and operates the Little Anita’s franchises in Colorado, is opening the first Arizona location alongside Rhonda Lovato. In a phone call with What Now Phoenix this week, Ponzio says they anticipate opening by the end of this month.

The restaurant is nearly ready to welcome hungry and excited customers. They are sure to be wowed by not only the menu, but also all the fine details that have gone into the space, such as a custom mural and bar countertop by local artist Leila Parnian.

Little Anita’s New Mexican Food may become your new favorite spot for any meal of the day. They will be open every day for breakfast from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., followed by lunch and dinner until 9 p.m. on weekdays and 10 p.m. on weekends.
