Longtime Tucson bar Dirtbag’s is preparing to expand for the first time, opening a new location in Arcadia at 4801 E. Indian School Road.

The company’s second location is set to move into the former home of The Spot in the Citrus Plaza on Indian School Road, according to the restaurant’s Instagram. Dirtbag’s expects to open this new site in Fall 2024, offering fine-crafted cocktails and savory, tasty food options. The replacement may surprise some, with Dirtbag’s been around for more than 30 years and has a reputation for being a rowdy bar with risqué drink names, such as the Sicilian Whore and the Nasty Girl Scout.

“As a staple in the lives of both The University of Arizona and the local Tucson community, Dirtbag’s transcends multiple generations,” according to the company’s website. “Not a week goes by that we are not visited by former “Baggers” who return to reminisce about their college years, find their favorite license plate behind the bar, or introduce their children to the staff. The Dirtbag’s community has always been — and always will be — an extended family strewn about the world and straddling more than 30 years of college life.”

While Dirtbag’s may have a reputation for its brash names, the restaurant is not only known for its great drinks and lively atmosphere, but its hearty food menu is at the center of everything. Customers can expect huge sandwiches, hefty, juicy burgers, and healthy options. If you’re looking for something to snack on, their munchies menu can’t be beaten, with options like dirtfries, mozzarella cheese sticks, chicken strips, and more. Dirtbag’s also offers daily lunch and drink specials, including Free Wings Fridays, where customers get two buffalo wings with a $3.75 drink.

“Get ready to relive your glory days without the 8 am classes,” according to Dirtbag’s Phoenix recent Instagram post. “Dirtbag’s Phoenix is on its way to Arcadia. Dirtburger, anyone?”
