Eureka Restaurant Group, founded by Paul Frederick, Justin Nedelman and Robert Suzuki, has announced plans for an upcoming pickleball-themed entertainment complex called Electric Pickle located between South Jewel Street and South Emerald Drive in Tempe.
The complex, according to recent reporting by Mouth by Southwest, will cover two stories and contain 7,000 square feet of restaurant space with a large patio and rooftop bar. There will also be nine pickleball courts, a lawn for live music and other gatherings, with cornhole and bocce ball courts to round it out.
Frederick recently told the Phoenix Business Journal, “We want to create a fun, high-energy food and beverage experience with this giant entertainment concept.”
The menu will focus on global comfort cuisine like Mexico City-inspired tacos, Korean protein bowls, Neapolitan pizzas, and backyard-style burgers.
For those unfamiliar, pickleball is a sport similar to tennis but played on smaller courts with specialized paddles and a ball similar to a whiffle ball.
Electric Pickle is set to make its nationwide debut in Tempe in late 2022, with five other locations planned in Texas, the Southwest and Scottsdale in 2023.
