Earlier this year, the fast-casual Italian-American restaurant chain, Fazoli’s, announced that it had signed a multi-unit franchise agreement with local restaurateur Nava Singam. Now, it appears as though the first of those locations is set for Terminal 4 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, with construction kicking off next month, according to industry media outlet, Restaurant News.
In a statement, Singam, who serves as president and CEO of Kind Hospitality, said, “We put a lot of thought behind where to reintroduce Fazoli’s in the Phoenix area. We landed on Sky Harbor, Fazoli’s first airport location, where local residents and travelers alike will have the opportunity to indulge in Fazoli’s delicious Italian recipes and buttery breadsticks. We’re thrilled for guests from all corners of the world to fall in love with our new location.”
Back in March, Singam reached an agreement with Fazoli’s to open nine restaurants across the Valley through 2024, telling QSR Magazine at the time, “Fazoli’s is poised for strong growth in the Phoenix market and we’re excited to bring back this best-in-class brand.”
It was welcomed news given that nearly 15 years prior, in 2008, Fazoli’s had shuttered all of its Arizona locations because, as then-CEO Carl Howard said to the Phoenix Business Journal in 2015, it was “failing miserably and underperforming.”
However, Singam seems to have renewed confidence in the company, explaining, “The brand has elevated all aspects of the guest experience, from new menu items to the exceptional tableside service. This brand continues to adapt and live up to its mantra of giving guests exactly what they crave, how and when they want it.”
Fazoli’s is Italian-American comfort food at its finest, with a menu that spans all the classics such as the Meatball da Vinci sub, Baked Spaghetti, Lasagna, Chicken Fettuccini Alfredo, Chicken Carbonara, and Pizza. The restaurant now also offers its “Lifestyle Menu” featuring Low Carb Pepperoni & Bacon Flatbread, and a Gluten-Friendly Chicken Pesto Rotini.
