Firehouse Subs, the Jacksonville-based sandwich company, is preparing to open a new location in Tempe at 5000 S Arizona Mills Cir.

The new Firehouse Subs coming to Arizona Mills Shopping Center is the latest from the International Restaurant Management Group. The restaurant will sit across from the IMAX theater between Fatburger & Buffalo Express and Suki Hana, another concept that IRMG also franchises. There is no exact opening date, but the shopping center’s directory recently updated its listings to include Firehouse Subs. Customers can expect the firefighter-themed restaurant to open by year-end.

This isn’t the only new eatery coming to Arizona Mills, as the shopping center is also expected to welcome a new Fruitlandia later this year. These two new tenants will join several other restaurants already in the area, including Charliey’s Philly Steaks, Dairy Queen, El Pollo Loco, Johnny Rockets, Joe’s Crab Shack, and more. While the shopping center has plenty of eating options, none provide a place for customers to get a submarine sandwich.

This is just the first of many new Firehouse Subs for IRMG, according to the company’s website. On top of the upcoming Tempe location, the group is also working on new locations in Sawgrass Mills in Sunrise, FL; Wheaton Mall in Wheaton, MD; and the Houston Galleria in Houston. These will be the group’s first locations of Firehouse Subs. It’s unclear when the company will open these locations, but based on the group’s track record, it’s safe to say the group will likely open many more after these ones.
