Green Corner Restaurant, a fast-casual Mediterranean concept renowned for its health-focused dishes, is set to open a new location in Tempe at 777 S. College Ave., #105.
The company’s newest location is set to open in the former home of Nocawich, situated just steps from Arizona State University’s Tempe campus at the southwest corner of College Avenue and Seventh Street, according to signage on the building. An official opening date has not been announced yet. The new Green Corner location is expected to serve the restaurant’s full lineup of kabobs, shawarma, gyros, and falafel.
Green Corner is owned by chef Ebrahim Takkem and his nephew, Ashraf Abu Sharkh. The restaurant debuted in Mesa in 2016 and has since expanded to Chandler and Scottsdale. A fourth location was previously announced for 2024 in Eastmark, southeast Mesa, with an opening date targeted for the end of 2025.
The Tempe location will mark the brand’s fifth overall and first in a university-adjacent setting. The space formerly housed Nocawich, a sandwich shop by the team behind Noca, which closed earlier this year. Its proximity to ASU’s student population and surrounding businesses is expected to bring strong foot traffic and daytime demand.
Green Corner’s menu features a range of Mediterranean staples, including beef, chicken, and lamb kabobs, shawarma wraps, gyros, hummus, and vegetarian dishes such as falafel and kibbeh. Each meal is prepared fresh and served in generous portions, often accompanied by a complimentary piece of baklava.
Takkem, a native of Syria, draws on more than 15 years of culinary experience and Levantine cooking traditions. He and Sharkh emphasize the use of fresh ingredients and authentic preparation, aiming to bring both quality and hospitality to each of their locations.
