Opening in 2024, Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream, a beloved brand with a legacy that spans nearly eight decades, will soon become an addition to the Shops at Lake Pleasant, according to the shopping center’s site plan.

Alongside other renowned names like In-N-Out and Raising Cane’s, the ice cream shop offers ice creams, sherbets, and ices in a wide variety of flavors.

According to their website, the story of Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream began in the summer of 1945 by Alice Handel in Youngstown, Ohio. Using fresh fruit from her own garden and her personal recipes, Alice lovingly made ice cream that quickly captured the hearts of her neighbors. Handel’s, and a dedication to quality, was born from this humble beginning. Still today, each batch of ice cream is made fresh daily, upholding the original methods and recipes she pioneered.

Owner Joe Maher told What Now Phoenix that they are aiming to open in March or April 2024.
