Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, one of the country’s fastest growing chains, is opening another restaurant in Arizona.
Mesa’s Medina Station has announced that Hawaiian Bros. will join a robust roster of retail, restaurant, and service tenants such as Cafe Zupas, Einstein Brothers Bagels, Good Vets, Boot Barn, and Dick’s Sporting Goods at the new multi-use center on the Southeast corner of Southern Avenue and Signal Butte Road. When completed some time in 2026, the $400 million mixed-use development will house commercial space, restaurants, and about 650 apartments, taking up more than 60 acres of land.
Franchisee Stine Enterprises is the key factor for the growth of Hawaiian Bros in Arizona, with ultimate plans for 75 locations throughout the state and into North Texas. Currently, there are about 70 Hawaiian Bros locations throughout the United States.
Hawaiian Bros was founded in 2018 by brothers Tyler and Cameron McNie with a simple vision to serve fresh meals without the use of freezers, fryers, or microwave ovens. The menu is based on Hawaiian classics plate lunches that include white rice, macaroni salad, and a choice of protein such as hulu huli chicken, luau pig, or seasoned vegetables. The restaurant also offers wraps, SPAM musubi, pineapple chunks, and a Dole soft serve for dessert.
