Hawaiian Bros Island Grill, a quick-serve restaurant focused on Hawaiian comfort food, is getting ready to open a new location in Scottsdale at 8970 E. Shea Blvd.
The company was recently approved by the Scottsdale Development Review Board approved the company on June 20 for a new 2,909-square-foot restaurant on the corner of Shea Blvd. and 89th Place, according to Phoenix Business Journal. The new Hawaiian Bros will move into the former home of Red Robin. This is the latest from Stine Enterprises, who last year made a development agreement to open 50 Hawaiian Bros locations in Arizona. Hawaiian Bros plan to demolish that building and construct its own restaurant.
“Given the operational excellence of Stine Enterprises and their commitment to the communities they serve, they are an ideal first franchise partner for our brand,” Scott Ford, president & co-CEO of Hawaiian Bros, said at the time of the franchise agreement. “The combined experience from the team and expertise in the industry will help elevate the brand and aid in our rapid growth efforts.”
Hawaiian Bros, which was founded in 2018, is known for its island-inspired plate lunch, which offers a variety of chicken or pork glazed with sweet, savory, or spicy sauces, macaroni salad, white rice or vegetables, and Dole Soft Serve for dessert. The company owns and operates 50 restaurants in Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas. Stine Enterprises also plans to open about 25 locations in North Texas. The chain transferred 11 restaurants in the Dallas-Fort Worth area to Stine Enterprises as part of the deal.
