Henhouse Cafe, an East Valley breakfast spot known for their Egg Delectables and Chicken Fried Chicken, will finally be roosting in Tempe. Located at 9920 S. Rural Road on the northwest corner with Ray Road, Henhouse Cafe is currently hiring for all positions at this new location.

In a phone call with What Now Phoenix, owner Brett Grebe confirmed that the Tempe location is almost ready to open by November this year. “We’re excited to finally get to open in Tempe,” Grebe says. “Tempe folks have been asking us to open there and now it’s finally going to happen after about 14 years.”

Grebe says that they were originally supposed to bring Henhouse Cafe to Tempe back in 2020, but we all know how that story goes. Now, with things finally starting to return to normal he and his family can get back on track with their expansion plans.

He envisions opening Henhouse Cafe in multiple locations throughout the Valley but of course, construction and permitting in the restaurant industry has never been the same since the pandemic. Still, this upcoming Tempe restaurant is a small step in an exciting direction.
