Texas-based Il Bracco is getting ready to cross state lines and open a new location in Phoenix on Scottsdale Road, just north of McDonald Drive.

Western Addition Restaurant Group was approved by the Scottsdale Development Review Board earlier this month to open a restaurant that will be more than 6,000 square feet with a 1,000-square-foot patio, according to Phoenix Business Journal. The company’s third location, following Dallas and Houston, is expected to open sometime next year, offering a menu that “draws inspiration from the eclectic culinary and design traditions of Northern Italy,” according to documents filed with the city of Scottsdale.

This will be the first time the restaurant group expands the brand beyond its home state, having initially submitted plans to the city of Scottsdale in 2022. The project faced delays after some pushback from residents of a nearby residential complex over the increase in traffic. Despite the opposition, the Scottsdale Development Review Board approved the project unanimously. Phoenix-based architect and design group Brick & West Design will help Western Addition with the new Il Bracco.

When the restaurant opens next year, customers can expect a variety of classic Italian dishes, including homemade pasta and bread, fresh fish and proteins that are butchered in-house daily, and a full-service bar that can make any cocktail. Some examples of the menu include eggplant parm, Mediterranean sea bass, chicken piccata, New York strip steak, and more. Guests will be encouraged to make reservations once it opens, and business casual attire is suggested. Western Addition Restaurant also owns and operates Bobbie’s in Dallas and Balboa Surf Club in Houston.
