High Street’s Modern Margarita might be making a return to Chandler this year, according to a planning permit found in city public records. Requests for a patio and storefront renovation were submitted for 4165 S. Gilbert Road at the former Grubstak space in The Plant shopping mall.

Based on the timing and details of our source, it’s likely that Modern Margarita won’t be open at this new location until early summer, if not mid-spring, if the rumor turns out to be true. What Now Phoenix has reached out to representatives for Modern Margarita, who were unable to comment at the time of publication.

Modern Margarita is known for their vast selection of freshly made margs. Taking a modern approach to the classic margarita, they use unique flavors such as prickly pear, hibiscus, smoked maple, jalapeño and more.

At this relaxed, yet upscale Mexican bistro you can also nosh on gourmet tacos, burgers, fresh guacamole, and plenty of sharing plates if you want to get a taste of everything. This isn’t Modern Margarita’s first time in the southeast valley either.

They previously had a location on Boston Street in downtown Chandler, which is now the future site of a highly-anticipated duo concept, The Uncommon and The Tipsy Egg. Luckily in addition to these, Chandler might also be getting a Modern Margarita, where daily happy hour and delicious drinks abound. For more information, visit modernmargarita.com.
