Is Jalapeño Dragon planning to lock down a new brick-and-mortar location? According to a pending zoning application found in Mesa public records, this seems to be the case. If the evidence holds true, expect Jalapeño Dragon to pop up later this year at 640 E. Main St.

Research leads us to believe this is the same Jalapeño Dragon that opened for business in January 2021, selling individual Mexican-fusion sushi rolls and platters. While items like the Vegas Roll – filled with spicy crab, salmon and avocado, before it is deep-fried and topped with eel sauce – offer more classic flavors, Jalapeño Dragon adds its own twist to sushi.

The Three Amigos, for example, is filled with shrimp, chicken, carne asada, cream cheese, and cucumber, while the Bomba features chicken, shrimp, bacon, and avocado. Jalapeño Dragon is a popular Grubhub choice, while also offering to-go orders and catering.

Our source reveals that they will take over an existing building for restaurant use featuring a pick-up window, which will be pretty convenient for their delivery and pick-up customers. Apparently they are currently located further down the road at 4815 E. Main St.

It is unclear whether this will be a relocation or an expansion for the budding fusion restaurant. What Now Phoenix has reached out to the owners of Jalapeño Dragon, who’ve yet to return requests for comment at the time of publication.
