Celebrity chef and humanitarian José Andrés is finally opening a restaurant in Arizona.
The José Andrés Group (JAG) recently announced that it was partnering with Arizona’s VAI Resort to open the chef’s first-ever Arizona restaurant. Bar Mar will open at the resort, located at 9601 Cardinals Way in Glendale, some time in 2026.
Bar Mar will offer the iconic chef’s renditions of classic seafood dishes, paired with a curated cocktail program. The dining room, designed by Lázaro Rosa Violán, will offer resort guests and locals a memorable dining experience.
In a press release, Sam Bakhshandehpour, CEO of José Andrés Group, said, “We’re thrilled to open Bar Mar, our first restaurant in Arizona in this new epicenter for entertainment. From musical performances to culinary experiences, discovery is a key element of what makes VAI Resort such an exciting, new destination.”
José Andrés Group has more than 40 restaurants throughout the United States, the Bahamas, and Dubai. JAG’s experiences range from food trucks to Michelin-starred experiences.
When it opens, the VAI Resort will boast 1,100 guest rooms, suites, and villas in four towers. In addition to Bar Mar, the property will have a steakhouse, a champagne bar, an Italian restaurant, and more.
