Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria is headed for 2815 S. Alma School Road in Chandler, according to a recent building permit filed with the city. A 1,993 square-foot restaurant space is undergoing a full buildout in preparation for what is hoped to be a May 2022 opening, representatives for Lou Malnati’s confirmed with What Now Phoenix.

The new Chandler location will be a carry-out only store, but will serve the same delicious Chicago-style deep dish pizzas with butter crust that have made Lou Malnati’s a household name. From Deep Dish Malnati Chicago Classic to The Lou, you can expect every pizza to be handcrafted from scratch with the freshest and finest ingredients.

Lou Malnati’s also has thin crust pizzas, gluten-free crusts, and even a crustless pizza! There is also a hearty selection of salads, appetizers, pastas, sandwiches, and desserts to make the entire family happy. After all, family is what Lou Malnati’s is all about.

Lou Malnati himself got his start working at Chicago’s first deep-dish pizzeria in the 1940’s and in 1971, opened his first namesake restaurant in Lincolnwood, a northern suburb in Chicago. His restaurant drew customers in droves and eventually, his wife and sons would carry on the family business.

Today, the chain has grown into over 70 locations nationwide. In Arizona, there are currently carry-out locations in Arcadia, Gilbert, Mesa and Glendale, while Phoenix and Scottsdale are home to full-service restaurants with bars. For more information, visit www.loumalnatis.com.

Correction: An earlier version of this article stated that Lou Malnati’s Pizzeria has over 60 locations nationwide. This has been corrected to more than 70 locations nationwide.
