Right on the heels of opening its first Arizona restaurant, Luna Grill is continuing its expansion in the state.
The Mediterranean chain is looking to open a restaurant at 3131 South Market Street in Gilbert, according to The Valley Radar’s Instagram account, which notes it’s moving into the former Teriyaki Madness space in the SanTan Village area, next to Costco and Menchie’s Yogurt. An opening date has not been announced.
In November 2025, Luna Grill opened its first Arizona restaurant, at 9317 E. Ray Road in Mesa. The company issued a statement on its website, indicating its intent to continue its growth in the state, noting, “the Mesa restaurant marks the brand’s 54th location and its first step in a larger Arizona expansion planned for 2026 and beyond.”
Additionally, Billy Grenham, chief marketing officer for the restaurant chain, noted, “Arizona has been our number one most-requested market.”
Founded in 2004 in San Diego by husband-and-wife team Sean and Maria Pourteymour, Luna Grill has grown to 53 locations across Southern California, the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and now the greater Phoenix region.
Luna Grill offers Mediterranean favorites with each dish seasoned by hand, marinated with scratch-made family recipes and grilled over an open flame. Favorites include flame-grilled kabobs, bowls, salads, fresh pitas and family meals.
