A concept called Maker Kitchens is under construction at 910 W. Jackson St. in Phoenix, according to a recent building permit found in city public records. The company provides private, permitted commercial kitchens to pick-up and delivery-only restaurants, plus food and beverage vendors of all kinds.
Founding partner Yossi Reinstein confirms that the building on the corner of Jackson Street and 9th Avenue is currently being built out and that they plan to open by Spring 2022. “We are a company focused on permitting, building, and operating clean, affordable, and conveniently located Commercial Kitchen Centers,” he tells What Now Phoenix.
The building itself spans 14,279 square-feet and will soon house 22 leasable commercial kitchens to local Phoenix businesses. Each kitchen serves as a turnkey food manufacturing space or ghost kitchen, which is completely private for any business to operate independently.
With flexible lease terms, each kitchen somes fully outfitted with plenty of gas and electricity; 9- to 14-foot hoods; plus dishwashing, hand, and prep sinks. There will even be communal dry storage, freezer and fridge space, plus areas for shipping and receiving. All that you need is your own equipment.
In addition to being lockable, all the kitchens meet wholesale, organic, gluten-free, kosher and other requirements. Leasees get 24/7 access, plus the benefit of WiFi, changing rooms, bathrooms, and a communal office.
Maker Kitchens originated in Southern California, seeing plenty of success out of the Los Angeles and San Diego markets. They’ve helped more than 300 vendors serve over 20,000 meals and with their expansion into the Phoenix market, they’re sure to serve a lot more. For more information, visit makerkitchens.com.
