Last fall, Denver-based Mici Handcrafted Italian announced its first expansion out of Colorado with plans to move into the Grand Canyon State. A 30-unit deal was signed with experienced local restaurateurs after franchising expert Matt Stanton was named Chief Growth Officer for Mici Franchising, LLC.
In a phone call with What Now Phoenix today, Stanton confirmed that Mici’s first Arizona location is going up at 5498 S. Power Road in Gilbert. The plan is to open in May and based on a pending liquor license review scheduled for next month, it looks like they are right on schedule.
This Gilbert location will be the first of at least 25 units that are planned to debut over the next several years. Soon, the Valley will be abundant with Mici’s classic family recipes handed down for generations made with real, whole ingredients.
The chain was founded by siblings Jeff, Kim, and Michael Micelli, who were granted permission to use their family recipes on the promise that they honor their traditions using only high-quality ingredients. Because of this, flavor speaks for itself in the pizzas, pastas, salads, and other delicious meals that make Mici Handcrafted Italian what it is today.
