Mox Boarding House, headquartered up in Seattle, Washington, is heading for their first Arizona location at 1371 N Alma School Road in Chandler.
The restaurant, owned by brothers John and Damon Morris, “Marries dining and tabletop gaming,” said Marketing Manager Nelly Steiner when she reached out to What Now Phoenix on Tuesday. “We have a gaming library with around 400 games that people can borrow while they’re here at no extra charge.”
The restaurant, which includes meals ranging from steaks to pastas to poutine, also serves cocktails and local craft beer and wine in most of the locations — including the upcoming one in Chandler.
There’s also plenty of open gaming space in all of the locations, and the new one is no exception. With 10,000 square feet to work with, there’s plenty of room to host Mox’s fan-favorite trivia nights and events like Magic the Gathering that frequently sell out.
“We’re excited for Arizona because we’ve been in the PNW for 10 years now,” said Steiner.
As to the opening, Steiner said they’re still unsure.
“It definitely won’t be 2021,” she confirmed. “We’re hoping for spring 2022, but with COVID and some construction things, you just never know. We gave an opening date for our Portland location and ended up opening a year later, so while we hope for early 2022, all we really know is it won’t be 2021.”
