Nautical Bowls, a fast-casual restaurant chain that specializes in serving a variety of delicious and healthy acai bowls and other nutritious options, is getting ready to expand throughout the Valley with several new locations.
Previously, What Now Phoenix reported that Nautical Bowls was making its debut in Avondale under franchise owner David Patalsky, with additional sites to follow. However, details of the two other locations were to be determined. Now, it’s become a little clearer where else the brand will land in Phoenix. Diversified Partners, a Scottsdale-based real estate brokerage and development firm, celebrated the official groundbreaking of its newest project, Shops at the Cardinal, at the southeast corner of 91st Avenue and Cardinals Way in Glendale, according to InBusinessPHX. One of the tenants in this development is Nautical Bowls, which is expected to open in early 2026.
David Patalsky tells What Now Phoenix that he will own and operate the Glendale location, which is situated across from the Cardinals Stadium, and also holds a lease for a new development site in Goodyear at the intersection of Yuma and Estrella. He attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Glendale location last Tuesday and shared photos of the event on the brand’s Facebook and Instagram pages (@nauticalbowlswestvalley). At the ceremony, a few attendees recognized the Nautical Bowls brand and expressed their love for the product, indicating growing brand awareness. Sales at his Avondale store have more than doubled compared to the previous year. The Goodyear location is expected to open sometime next year, though no specific timeline has been set as the site has not yet broken ground. Looking ahead, Patalsky plans to open more locations in the West Valley, specifically targeting Surprise, Peoria, and possibly Buckeye.
The Shops at the Cardinal is already nearing full lease-up, with just 1,200 square feet remaining. Additional confirmed tenants include Swig, Señor Taco, McDonald’s, Starbucks, Bonchon, Pacific Dental Services, La Botana, Jeremiah’s Italian Ice, a new Mexican sushi concept, and a nail salon and spa. Tenant build-outs are expected to begin later this year, with openings anticipated in early 2026.
“Groundbreakings are where the vision starts to become reality, and we’re proud to celebrate that moment today in partnership with the City of Glendale,” Walt Brown Jr., founder and CEO of Diversified Partners, said in a news release. “Shops at the Cardinal sits in one of the most high-impact corridors in the Valley, and we’ve been intentional about creating a mix of nationally recognized brands and community favorites. With just 1,200 square feet remaining, this momentum reflects the strength of the Glendale market—and we can’t wait to see it come to life.”
