North Italia, the upscale, family-friendly Italian restaurant chain, is planning a restaurant in Chandler.

The restaurant filed an application with the City of Chandler for a restaurant to be located at 7221 W. Ray Road, at the former Z’Tejas Southwestern Grill location.  No opening date has been announced.

More than 20 years ago, North Italia was founded to provide good Italian food and great hospitality. In October 2019, The Cheesecake Factory Incorporated purchased North Italia. Today, there are nearly 50 corporate-owned locations across the U.S., with Texas and California having the most locations. There are currently six locations in Arizona. In total, parent THe Cheesecake Factory Incorporated owns and operates 371 restaurants throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Like its parent company, North Italian offers quality dining at reasonable prices. Menus vary slightly by location, but guests can find Italian classics like burrata and eggplant parmigiana for appetizers, pastas like spicy rigatoni vodka and spaghetti Bolognese, meat dishes like chicken parmigiana and braised short rib, and hearty salads. In addition, the restaurant offers oven-baked strombolis, pizzas, and sandwiches.

North Italia also offers a good selection of Italian wines, along with specialty cocktails such as the Cacio e Pepe dirty Martini and a Sicilian Margarita.  Zero-proof offerings are also available.
