Outlaw Distillery has officially acquired Adventurous Stills, a Tempe-based distillery located at 2125 E. Fifth St., #102, which has operated at Fifth Street and Price Road since 2015.
The ownership transfer was finalized on May 30, and the location has been rebranded under the Outlaw name, according to Phoenix New Times. The 2,500-square-foot facility includes a distillery and an adjacent tasting room where guests can take tours, sample spirit flights, and enjoy cocktails. Outlaw owner and head distiller Tyler Halstead, who also runs the original Outlaw Distillery in Sandy, Utah, worked closely with Adventurous Stills founder Kelly Lattig during the transition. A grand reopening party featuring food trucks and a DJ is scheduled for June 21.
Outlaw Distillery began operations in Sandy, Utah, on January 1, 2015, as the state’s fourth distillery. The company emphasizes a grain-to-glass process, partnering with local Utah farmers to produce small-batch spirits. Their product lineup includes bourbon, honey bourbon, spiced rum, coffee rum, and moonshine, all crafted in-house. Outlaw Distillery has received multiple awards, including silver medals for its Spiced Rum and Premium Honey Bourbon. The distillery operates tours by appointment on select days and is located at 552 W 8360 S in Sandy.
Adventurous Stills was a grain-to-bottle distillery. The distillery offered guided tours where guests can sample six of their award-winning spirits, including Peralta Bourbon and North Rim American Single Malt Whiskey. They also hosted special events, including whiskey tastings, pairing events, and educational workshops. After a fire in April 2024 caused a temporary closure, Adventurous Stills reopened in September 2024, debuting new spirits and resuming operations. The distillery was recognized for its dedication to utilizing locally sourced ingredients in its handcrafted spirits.
