Sam Olguin and Brenon Stuart, the owners of the Killer Whale Sex Club, are stirring up two new concepts for Roosevelt Row: FYPM and Magnum Opus. Both concepts are looking to move into 511 E Roosevelt Street in the same building as Trapp Haus BBQ.
Even though both concepts will be in the same building, they’ll each have their own separate entrance and space and be four doors down from the Killer Whale.
FYPM will be the more casual of the two, offering small plate food items that are similar to a dim sum outing. The experience is meant to be quick food with a constantly changing menu and a wine and cocktail program designed to reflect that.
Additionally, the cocktails and wine will have draft options to really encourage sharing and family style for food and drinks.
“It’ll definitely be a place for drinking and the food will keep you having a good time,” said Stuart when he spoke to What Now Phoenix on Thursday.
The other, Magnum Opus, will have a much more thoughtful and intentional cocktail bar, not only from the menu itself but from the way they’re serving drinks.
Stuart and Olguin drew inspiration from various Asian teas, citrus and spices. The food will have a lot of Asian themes but won’t be a straight-up Asian cuisine.
With construction just in the early stages, there’s still no official word on an opening date.
