Picazzo’s Healthy Italian Kitchen is opening a location in Happy Valley.
The restaurant filed paperwork with the State of Arizona to open a restaurant at 3890 W. Happy Valley Road in Glendale. The restaurant’s website confirms the news, targeting a spring 2026 opening date.
The family-owned locally-based restaurant was founded in 2002 in Sedona, Arizona, by Rick Freedman and Doug Stanton. It offers delicious Italian food with a thoughtful twist — dishes area made with clean, thoughtfully-sourced ingredients with a mind toward healthful eating. The restaurant works with local farmers and suppliers to source the freshest produce. Chickens are antibiotic and hormone-free, and sausages are nitrate and nitrite-free. Picazzo’s makes its own sauces and dressings from scratch using organic spices and non-GMO sunflower and imported olive oils.
The restaurant also featured an inclusive menu that allows everyone in the family to enjoy a meal. Offerings include dishes for vegans, vegetarians, along with gluten-free and allergy-friendly options. Pizza lovers, for instance, can choose between original, gluten-free, gluten-free vegan, or gluten-free cauliflower crusts, with gluten=free crusts made on a dedicated stone to avoid cross-contamination.
Other dishes are just as accommodating with customers having the ability to substitute “zoodles” for pasta in dishes, enjoy a vegan lemon piccata, or savor a Bolognese made with turkey.
