Downtown Tempe is getting a new place to meet your friends when Republic Tempe opens.

Downtown Tempe’s official site posted the news that Republic is opening near 6th and Mill, in the former Zuma Grill and Mill Cue Club spaces, in August 2026. The bar’s Instagram confirms the August 2026 opening date, adding that the “eating and drinking establishment” will feature live music, a sports bar, and the revival of a neighborhood cue club — so you have a few months to hone your pool playing skills.

Phoenix New Times reports that the project is the work of restaurateur and bar owner, Scott Price. Price, who also owns the open-air, multi-level C.A.S.A. in Downtown Tempe, also plans on expanding that space to include dining and walk-up experiences.

Price is not only an entrepreneur. The Tempe resident, and veteran Navy SEAL, deeply cares about the community he’s part of. In 2022, Tempe Today News featured his philanthropic endeavors, noting that he feeds the city’s homeless and stages tailgate parties at Arizona State University home games to raise funds for the United Phoenix Fire Fighter Charities and others.
