Two heavy hitters in the culinary world are collaborating on a new restaurant in Tempe.

Arizona-based restaurant group Pretty Decent Concepts is collaborating with celebrity chef Scott Conant on an Italian concept called Roman God of Fire. The restaurant will open at Tempe’s Hayden Ferry Lakeside in the first quarter of 2026.

An announcement on Pretty Decent Concepts‘ website announces the restaurant is “coming soon”. Azcentral posted further details on Instagram, noting that, “Pretty Decent Concepts is setting out to transport the diners to another world. This time, it’s an old-world cathedral. Designed by Peter Max, the 8,000-square-foot restaurant consists of two parts, which Myers referred to virtue and vice.”

A graduate of the Culinary Institute of American, Scott Conant built his reputation on creating concepts that combine Italian flavors with contemporary flair. Conant officially put his name on the map in 2002 when he opened L’Impero in Manhattan, which received a three-star review from The New York Times and a “Best New Restaurant” award from the James Beard Foundation.

The chef was the chef/owner of Scarpetta for many years, and is still famous for its classic spaghetti al pomodoro. A frequent Food Network host and judge, Conant currently owns Celio Steak and the Americano with both restaurants influenced by Italian culinary styles.

Pretty Decent Concepts was founded in 2016 by Theodore “Teddy” and Katie Myers . It owns and operates several high profile restaurants and lounges in the Phoenix area including Wren & Wolf, Trophy Room, Carry On, and more.
