Rosie’s Taco Shop is coming soon to the Valley! The family-owned taco shop is opening at 21055 W Main St. in Buckeye and 753 N. McQueen Road in Gilbert. In 2007, owners Oscar and Rosie Ruiz successfully opened Oscar’s Taco Shop in Franklin, Tennessee and subsequently opened many locations throughout the area.

Now, after having moved to Phoenix, the Ruizes are ready to apply their expertise to a new venture. Rosie’s Taco Shop will have a condensed version of the menu from Oscar’s, allowing them to maintain the high-quality and customer service they are known for.

The menu will feature their most popular items from Oscar’s, including the California Burrito, Shredded Beef Taco, Rolled Tacos, Quesadillas and more. Every ingredient is prepared daily each morning and all the meats are grilled to order, rather than sitting in a pot.

“We are a family-run business with a little over 20 years of experience. We are excited to be in the Valley and to do what we know best,” Oscar Ruiz tells What Now Phoenix, adding that they are in the finishing stages for their first shop. Rosie’s Taco Shop in Buckeye will open by mid-March, while the Gilbert location will follow in April.

Locations in Avondale and Scottsdale are scheduled to open throughout the summer. For more information, visit their website and follow them on Facebook for updates.

Correction: An earlier version of this article mentioned that Ruiz’s father owned Cotijas in California, when it is actually owned by his uncle’s family. Rosie’s Taco Shop and Oscar’s Taco Shop are not affiliated with Cotijas. Oscar Ruiz has been in touch with What Now Phoenix to make this clarification and to provide further details.
