Someburros, the family-owned Mexican restaurant rooted in Arizona since 1986, announced the opening of its first Surprise location, welcoming guests beginning Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 16487 Cactus Road, Surprise, AZ 85388, conveniently located near the intersection of Cactus Road and Loop 303.

While the restaurant will be open to the public starting January 20, Someburros will host a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, February 21, 2026, inviting the Surprise community to officially celebrate with food, festivities, and family-friendly fun.

The opening comes during a milestone year for Someburros, as 2026 marks 40 years of serving the Valley with authentic Sonoran-style Mexican food made with real ingredients, generous portions, and time-honored family recipes passed down through generations of the Vasquez Family.

“For 40 years, our goal has been simple, to serve great food, treat people like family, and be a place where everyone feels welcome,” said Tim Vasquez, President and Owner of Someburros in a statement. “Bringing Someburros to Surprise is incredibly meaningful to our family, and we’re excited to share our Sonoran-style recipes, hospitality, and sense of community with our new neighbors.”

Beginning January 20, guests can enjoy Someburros’ signature menu, known for its quality, value, and bold Sonoran flavors, including:

  • Signature burros and burritos under $11, with the option to make them chimichanga, enchilada, or fundido style
  • Affordable combo meals, featuring burros, tacos, enchiladas, and more, served with Someburros’ famous rice and refried beans
  • Customer favorites like Nana Isabel’s Green Chili Beef and the Pollo Fundido
  • Breakfast served all day, including breakfast burros, tacos, and homestyle plates

Grand Opening Celebration – Saturday, February 21

Someburros will officially celebrate its arrival in Surprise with a Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, February 21, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with festivities designed for the whole family.

Grand Opening details include:

  • Live mariachi music from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Meet & Greet with Nacho, Someburros’ beloved burro mascot
  • First 50 guests receive a Someburros tumbler (while supplies last)
  • Restaurant hours: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Designed for Convenience & Community

Blending its rich heritage with modern convenience, the Surprise location features dine-in and counter service, a drive-thru, and access to the Someburros Rewards App for online ordering, loyalty points, and catering, making it easy for everything from morning coffee and breakfast burros to family dinners.

For four decades, Someburros has proudly remained family-owned and locally raised, serving Nana Isabel’s Sonoran-style recipes to the communities it calls home. What began as a small family dream has grown into an Arizona favorite, without ever losing sight of its belief that good food brings people together. Now, that same food, love, and sense of comunidad is coming to Surprise.

Looking ahead, Someburros will continue its growth with additional locations opening this summer in Maricopa and North Peoria.
