The Toasted Owl Cafe, a popular brunch spot originally from Flagstaff, is set to open a new location in Paradise Valley at 4326 E. Cactus Road.
The new location will move into the former home of The Oink Cafe, which closed in January 2025, according to Phoenix New Times. Situated at the northwest corner of Cactus Road and Paradise Valley Parkway, the cafe is expected to open in late November or early December 2025. Owner Cecily Maniaci secured the site after reaching out to the building owner. Customers can expect The Toasted Owl’s signature brunch menu, a kitschy vintage atmosphere, and a large mural by artist Maggie Keane.
The Toasted Owl Cafe began in Flagstaff in 2013 and opened its first Phoenix location in 2023 at The Newton shopping center on Camelback Road. This new Paradise Valley location marks the brand’s second Phoenix-area expansion and reflects continued growth. Maniaci, who grew up in the Paradise Valley area, sees this move as a return to her roots and an opportunity to contribute to the neighborhood’s evolving dining scene.
The location replaces The Oink Cafe in the Village Center shopping plaza. The area is undergoing redevelopment following the transformation of the former Paradise Valley mall, attracting new dining and retail businesses. Maniaci believes the cafe will attract a broad clientele and support the community’s revitalization efforts.
The menu features brunch staples like pancakes, omelets, breakfast burritos, and signature cinnamon rolls alongside an extensive vegan selection. The decor continues the cafe’s owl-themed, vintage style, with antiques sourced by Maniaci from the Midwest. The new mural will add a distinctive visual element to the space.
Currently, The Toasted Owl operates its Flagstaff flagship and a Phoenix location at 300 W. Camelback Road, Suite 3. The Paradise Valley cafe will be the brand’s third Arizona location.
