Tratto, a Phoenix-based Italian restaurant from chef Chris Bianco, is set to reopen at its original location in Phoenix, 4743 N. 20th Street.

The company’s return to The Shops at Town & Country follows the closure at its former space at Van Buren and 15th streets, according to Phoenix New Times. Tratto served its final dinner at the Van Buren location on Saturday, August 23, and is expected to reopen in its new location in mid-September. The updated space at 20th Street has been renovated and expanded by about 400 square feet. Customers can expect a continuation of the restaurant’s seasonal Italian menu with a Southwestern influence.

Tratto originally opened at Town & Country in 2016, next door to Pizzeria Bianco, before relocating in 2020 to accommodate pandemic-era spacing needs. The Van Buren site, situated within the historic Roland’s Market building, provided additional kitchen preparation and dining space. It remains unclear what will replace Tratto at that location, though the restaurant’s team has indicated an announcement is forthcoming.

The Town & Country shopping center is situated near 20th Street and Highland Avenue, providing proximity to Biltmore-area residents and office traffic. The future of Bar Bianco, which formerly operated adjacent to Pizzeria Bianco, has not yet been confirmed.

Tratto is renowned for its handmade pastas, locally sourced ingredients, and straightforward preparations rooted in Italian tradition. Menu highlights have included items like pork ragù, wood-fired vegetables, and house-extruded noodles. The menu changes frequently to reflect seasonal availability.

Bianco, a two-time James Beard Award winner, also operates Pizzeria Bianco in Phoenix and Los Angeles, as well as Pane Bianco, a sandwich and slice shop. His restaurants are often credited with elevating Arizona’s national culinary reputation.
