A brand new concept called Mother Tucker’s Tavern is getting ready to debut later this year in Old Town Scottsdale, located at 4420 N. Saddlebag Trail, #100.

This is the latest from Evening Entertainment Group and Royale Jelly Hospitality. The former is known for nightlife spots such as Bottled Blonde and sports bar Backyard, while the latter is recognized for opening The Porch. Mother Tucker’s Tavern is expected to open over Labor Day weekend, offering elevated bar snacks, craft beer, and retro-modern cocktails, according to Phoenix New Times. The new concept is expected to move into the former home of the two groups’ previous collaboration, Bevvy Food & Drink.

“We wanted to get back to the party pub roots of Bevvy and give it a timeless look inspired by some of our favorite dive bars, wood-paneled basement bars, and other classic watering holes,” co-owner John Dolan of Royale Jelly Hospitality said in a press release. “Dive bars aren’t made, they become that over the decades because they don’t change and always deliver. That’s our goal with Mother Tucker’s Tavern.”

Mother Tucker’s Tavern is a nod to Dolan’s father’s band, which played at a bar called Mother’s and had a singer named Tucker. While the new concept will still resemble a sports bar featuring UFC fights and opening early for football games, it will feature a high-low-style bottle service, where customers can get a 40-ounce Miller High Life with a selection of high-quality shooters. Mother Tucker’s Tavern will also serve as an official watch spot for University of Michigan football and plans to host an alum kickoff party for the team’s first game on Aug. 31.
