A Portland coffee company is expanding with a new location.

Harder Day Coffee Company is planned for 2031 NE Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard, according to a liquor license application with the City of Portland.

This would be the sixth location of Harder Day, joining four existing shops in Portland and one in Beaverton. Harder Day is a “a family owned and operated coffee company that roasts coffee in small batches and creates welcoming spaces to enjoy our coffee, pastries, beer and wine,” according to the website.

It was founded by Brody Day and Dustin Harder, the name being a combination of their two last names. They also founded Steeplejack Brewing Company, which has multiple locations.

Harder Day has expanded rapidly since launching in early 2024. The company is growing in other ways too; they acquired Water Avenue Coffee Company in 2024.

Harder Day lists the Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard location as “coming soon” on their website. The liquor license application indicates that operating hours for the shop would be from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

A location is also planned for 3494 N Williams Avenue.

Until the new ones open, you can check out Harder Day Coffee Company at one of its existing locations:

  • 4545 SW Angel Ave, #160, Beaverton, OR 97005
