According to a recent job post, Lawless Barbeque will open a second, undisclosed location in Northeast Portland.

A representative of Lawless Barbeque was not immediately available for commentary upon What Now Portland’s request.

While an official location and opening date have yet to be released, Lawless Barbeque’s original location currently resides inside Little Beast Brewing Beer Garden.

Lawless Barbeque is described as a gateway to an authentic Kansas City barbeque experience. Pitmaster and owner Kevin Koch, according to an article from Oregon Live, is Kansas-city born, but has lived in Portland for over ten years.

Lawless Barbeque is also described as a place where succulent pork ribs, brisket, and pulled pork take center stage, complemented by an array of sides and desserts, with a soft spot for burnt ends on the meat. Lawless states that they know that a complete dining experience requires more than just great meats, and that’s why they dedicate equal attention to their sides.

From BBQ beans that are described as rich and smoky to loaded potato salad, vinegar slaw with a tangy bite, and mac and cheese, their sides aim to elevate the meal to a whole new level. To finish on a sweet note, the banana pudding dessert is said to be a must-try, according to the company website.

  • dude hired me to help open his business then laid me off 2 weeks in due to not turning a profit. company is so poorly managed he didn’t have a budget for labor before opening this cart. the issue here is a common one in portland where pretentious business owners think they’re entitled to profit and to succeed. and they’re willing to do it at the cost of their employee’s .
I legitimately waited longer to start this job than I worked it.
I did everything a good employee should and I still got cut like a loose end.
I used to be a champion for privately owned small businesses but due to recent experiences have come to realize people like Kevin are just as exploitative if not more than corporate entities.
the cart is dirty as fuck and the drains back up onto the floors any time water is ran through the sink of dish pit.
the food is Ok at best but most times the ribs came out of the smoker crispy as fuck and burnt on the ends.
once flash fried it would just be crispy and greasy.
sadly when you rely on an employer you cant really tell them their food is mid or the mac and cheese is dry and mediocre because its a source of income. but now since i was laid off i feel its in my best interest to be honest.
foods mid and the owners an idiot.
