According to a recent permit filing, Novel Book Bar aims to debut in Old Town at 322 NW Everett Street.

A representative of Novel Book Bar was not immediately available to comment upon What Now Portland’s request.

While an official opening date and what Novel Book Bar plans to offer have yet to be confirmed, according to the permit, behind Novel Book Bar is Rolando Mingledoff.

The planned days of operation for Novel Book Bar will be Wednesday through Sunday from 5 PM to 12 AM. The same days and times will also apply to a live music schedule.

According to Yelp, Novel Book Bar will replace what was once home to Mingle Lounge, which is now marked as closed. Intentionalist states “Mingle Lounge is a hip hop and R&B bar in Portland’s Chinatown neighborhood, best known for its swinging bar seats and fun dance atmosphere.”

“The catch? You have to be 25 or older to get in. Owner Rolando Mingledoff opened Mingle Lounge in 2017 to create a mature, elevated atmosphere where he couldn’t possibly run into his 21-year-old kids on a night out.”
