According to a recent permit filing, TikkaTacoRito has filed for a location in the Pearl District at 1436 NW Glisan Street.
“Our goal opening date is on July 1st. We will be a fast-casual restaurant serving burritos, bowls, tacos, salads, and rolls with an Indian-style grill( clay pot or Tandoor grill)” owner Hariprasath Venkatram told What Now Portland.
“The proteins are cooked in a clay pot oven that gives a unique smoky taste and flavor. The tortilla/Roti will be made fresh for every order in under a minute.”
“A few unique dishes such as taco bombs and boba caviar will be new. You can expect the fusion of Indian and Mexican/Latin American flavors for sauces and drinks.”
“This restaurant is an answer and also an experiment to a question that I have had for a while. Why is there no Indian cuisine chain throughout the US?”
Listed on the permit filing for the planned days of operation are Thursday through Monday from 11 AM to 9 PM with Wednesday’s hours being listed as 11 AM to 10 PM. There will be seasonal variations to the hours.
