2M Smokehouse BBQ is revving up to bring its award-winning food to Terminal B of the San Antonio International Airport in the summer of 2026.
The airport is adding four new drink and dining concessions to Terminal B, and 2M Smokhouse was one of the eateries to get awarded a contract.
According to the San Antonio Report, 2M Smokehouse BBQ will gain a portion of the 5,000 square feet allotted to the four concepts to operate in Terminal B. All of which are intended to open by July 2026.
“This feels amazing,”2M Smokehouse BBQ pitmaster and co-owner, Chef Esaul Ramos, said outside San Antonio City Council chambers when he was voted as one of the four new restaurateurs to receive a spot in Terminal B of the airport.
“It’s a big win for me. It’s been a great week. God is good.”
The widely acclaimed eatery continues to draw a multitude of customers and awards since its opening at 2731 S. WW White in December of 2016.
Since then, Chef Esaul has been nominated for two James Beard Awards. In 2024, 2M Smokehouse BBQ received a Michelin Guide recommendation.
Serving up what many consider the best brisket in town, pulled pork, ribs, and more, 2M Smokehouse BBQ continues to be a staple in the community. With a wide variety of sides, including its savory street corn, spicy pickled nopales, warm flour tortillas, and mac and cheese topped with chicharrones, all an homage to his Mexican-American roots.
Chef Esaul gives a nod to his roots and family in more ways than one. The 2M name is a tribute to his grandparents, Ignacio Márquez, and Joe J. Melig Jr.
You can expect to see that name in SAT come summer 2026 when 2M Smokehouse BBQ opens its doors for the first time at San Antonio International Airport in July 2026.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Chef Esual for comment, but did not receive a response by the time of publication.
