Dez Rodriguez and Chef Page Pressley, co-owners of The Newstand Coffee & Sandwiches, are bringing a new concept to San Antonio. The Dispatch will open its doors on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 7 a.m. The cafe is located inside McCombs Plaza at 755 E. Mulberry Avenue.
The Dispatch is inspired by the idea of a “dispatch,” or a message with purpose. It is built on a community-focused approach with a design that makes it a convenient stop for professionals and students alike.
The space is designed in collaboration with local San Antonio creatives. This includes brands like Roots to Reality (artistic design) and Chase Coffee Co. (equipment). The furniture design comes from Period Modern and Ryan Hunter of By Studio RH, while the merchandise comes from Diego Grennes of Southtown Supply Company.
Menu Highlights
The Dispatch brings a menu that features coffee, specialty drinks, pastries, juices, smoothies, and salads. Among the many items, the highlights are the Just Peachy drink, the Banana Matcha Muffins, and the Red Eye Coffee Cake. It also serves salads like the Kale Fruit Salad, which is made with spiced citrus, Texas pecans, dried cherries, puffed rice, and goat cheese.
The Dispatch serves fresh juices and nutrient-rich smoothies like the Texas Sun and Empire. Customers can also opt for optional wellness enhancements such as ashwagandha and Lion’s Mane.
