According to Community Impact, a new bar and grill is debuting in New Braunfels.
Coming to 208 S. Castell Avenue — taking over the former home of The Downtowner Bar & Kitchen, which shuttered back in December — Tavern on Castell will land near Cody’s Restaurant, Krause’s Cafe, and Scores Sports Bar & Grill.
“Tavern on Castell will offer craft cocktails and upscale bar food, such as fish and chips, soups, salads, burgers, brisket tacos, and more,” the report shares.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Chip Lyons — who co-owns the restaurant alongside Allison Wyatt and Michelle Mathis-Lyons — to inquire about the upcoming concept, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, Mathis-Lyons tells the journal that Tavern on Castell will boast a listening room where locals can gather to hear live music.
“We’re so excited,” Mathis-Lyons shares.
