According to a recently submitted permit application, a new coffee shop is coming to San Antonio’s Jefferson Bank Building.
Landing at 1900 Broadway, The Newstand will soon neighbor the Besame Bar and Food Truck Park, Sam’s Burger Joint, and The Modernist.
Owners Page Pressley and DezArey Rodriguez launched a Kickstarter campaign to fund the business.
“In a world filled with drive-thru coffee shops and espresso bars that laugh at you for wanting something sweet and creamy, The Newstand is rooted in old world coffee making traditions, with a food and pastry identity that is rooted in timeless Americana,” they share.
What Now San Antonio contacted Pressley to inquire about the upcoming concept, but he could not offer additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the filing provides further insight.
Construction of The Newstand is scheduled to begin January 1, 2024, and be completed in April, costing an estimated $350,000.
An opening date has not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
