According to a recent permit application, a new drinkery, Palomino Bar, is coming to San Antonio’s trendy Southtown neighborhood.

Taking over an existing 725-square-foot space at 1022 S. Presa Street, the upcoming bar will soon neighbor establishments such as Hands Down, Into the Void Tattoo, Near Dark, and The Haven Southtown.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the listed owner, Miguel Delgado, but he could not provide further information before publication.

Nevertheless, the filing provides further insight.

“The scope of work involves renovating a currently empty tenant space, formerly part of a restaurant, in an existing strip center to create a new bar.” Proposed improvements include installing “new finishes throughout” and “replacing the existing HVAC system” — and construction is scheduled to begin on August 21, to be completed by October 20. San Antonio-based firm Selva Architecture LLC will carry out the project for an estimated $50,000.

An opening date has not yet been announced, nor has the menu, so stay tuned for additional updates.
