Bar House, LLC, the business behind two popular outdoor bars in Schertz, is planning to debut a new tavern in San Antonio. Taking over an existing 7,300-square-foot space at 820 N Alamo Street, the forthcoming concept will join a block already hot with breweries and drinking establishments — such as Bentley’s Beer Garden, Roadmap Brewing Co., and The Lucky Duck SA.
According to a pending construction permit application, the company intends to renovate an existing “two-story wood structure” and add a “two-story steel structure for tavern use.” The job is slated to begin on July 6 and to reach completion by January 4, 2024. It will be carried out by the Cibolo-based firm Above Ground Design, PLLC for an estimated $830,000.
What Now San Antonio reached out to Nick Marquez, the business’s owner, but he was unable to provide additional information before the time of publication.
Nevertheless, as the filing is titled “New Bar House,” it seems likely that the Bar House concept will be opening its second outpost.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the concept, Bar House is known for its selection of craft beer and cocktails, wine selection, and a “relaxing and comfortable atmosphere.” Its existing tavern in Schertz exists within a renovated 1930s-era home and features “an inside bar full of detailed and reclaimed wood, a large covered deck, and an astroturf backyard with plenty of space and seating.”
An opening date has not yet been announced, so follow Bar House on Instagram for additional updates.
